Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between rigid tape and kinesiotape?
Rigid tape is a firm, non-stretchy tape that is used to provide support to a body part by limiting its movement. It is typically used on ankles, shoulders and knees.
Kinesiotape is stretchy and is therefore less supportive. It still can be used on ankles, knees and shoulders, as well as muscles such as calves, hamstrings and quadriceps. While still providing support, it can also help to reduce swelling and improve proprioception.
I am allergic to tape, is there any other options?
Our clinic stocks hypoallergenic tape that can be applied to the skin before the tape. It is recommended that a test patch is trialled first to see if there is any reaction.
A brace may be the better alternative for your pain and injury.
What type of braces do you have?
We keep stock of ankle braces, posture braces, knee and ROM braces as well as CAM boots and crutches.
If there is a specific brace that you are after then we can measure you for it and order it specifically.
