Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I know if my injury is serious?

Many injuries have similar symptoms but without a full assessment it is difficult to diagnose the extent of your injury. Some symptoms can be indicative of a more serious injury such as:

A popping or snapping sound or feeling

    • Intense or ongoing pain or weakness

    • Inability to weight-bear (walk) on the affected area

    • Immediate swelling or bruising

    • Visible deformity

    • Numbness or tenderness

It is best to get your injury assessed as soon as possible for an accurate diagnosis. At Refined, we will give your injury a comprehensive assessment and personalised recovery plan to fix your pain and get you back to your activity fast.

  • Should I come to physio straight after I injure myself?

YES! Even if you don’t think your injury is that bad, the sooner you get it looked at, the sooner we can give you the right advice on how to get it better the fastest. Often people will leave their injuries thinking they will get better on their own, but most of the time they don’t!

  • Can you refer me for an x-ray or MRI?

Yes, our physiotherapist can write you a referral on the spot if it is required for management of your injury.

  • When can I get back to playing my sport?

This is different for everyone. Your physiotherapist will create you your individual rehabilitation timeline and program that will ensure you return to sport safely without re-injuring yourself.
